WHERE, The Clarence River, NSW, starting at Maclean and finishing at Yamba, a distance of approximately 25km.
BCPC is a point-to-point paddle race for SUP and PRONE paddle boards only. This year to be run in conjunction with the final day of the “Clarence 100”, a 3-day marathon paddle race which this year has reached its 10-year milestone since first inception. The BCPC race is approximately 25km in distance and is divided into two legs each of approximately equal distance (13km and 12km).
This year BCPC paddlers will have the option to participate on any race type paddle board craft as a SOLO full distance Junior, Open or Age category participant or as a member of 2-person relay team where each team member using the same type of craft completes the full distance by changing out at the approximate halfway mark.
BCPC is a flat-water race but at this time of the year, weather conditions can and do vary and this can result in challenging conditions for paddlers caused by tidal influence and exposure to wind.
SUP paddle boards must be of the 14ft race type. Prone paddlers have the option to enter board classes including Unlimited length,12ft stock, and 10.6ft race Malibu.
Category awards will apply where more than three paddlers in each category exist. Otherwise, a first place will only be recognised in your category. Age categories include Junior (18 years and under), Open age, 45yr-59yr, and 60 and above. Any age may enter open age.
The two-person relay must involve 2 participants paddling the same class of board. Age categories for the relay are either all Junior or all open age. If one team member is a junior age and the other member open age the category for entry will be considered open age. Relay gender combinations include all female, all male or mixed team.

1.All paddlers MUST possess a board leash and maintain it attached to the body during race. PFD are advised to be worn but NOT mandatory.
2. All paddlers with no exception must pass through the check point (relay change out) and advise volunteer race staff of board number.
3.Paddlers should always be prepared to render assistance to other paddlers if in need of help for any reason.
4.Aquatic footwear is recommended but not compulsory due to various land and aquatic hazards.
5.There are NO cut off times. Paddlers are to make own decision about capacity to finish the course. In these circumstances paddlers must be mindful of the limited volunteer safety resource allocations provided on the course throughout the event.
6. On this course paddlers will be heading in a predominantly North Easterly direction in the first half of course and then ESE in the closing 4 km. Wind conditions during this time of year vary, be prepared to use protected parts of river where necessary.
7. The course will possess 3 safety vessels for assistance. Front middle and rear of paddle group.
8. If paddling solo, it is advisable but not compulsory to have land-based support person to provide assistance if needed.
9. We advise participants to carry personal supplies of hydration and nutrition. Paddlers will be on water between 3 and 4 hours.
10. We advise paddlers to carry mobile phone comms with them in the event 2-way communication between safety team and participant is required.
11. Paddlers must wear Hi Visibility clothing of your own choosing. Event merchandise is not a compulsory item for use during the event.
Early entry discount will apply up until August 31st. After this date full fee entry is applicable.
Adult $60 Junior $50.
The event organiser may be caused to cancel the event at any time before or during the event proceedings due to various safety concerns that may cause injury or harm to participants or event personnel. Or for any other un foreseen circumstances including government health regulations.
In these circumstances before the event commences 50% of fees will be refunded in due course. If event is cancelled during event proceedings NO refund will be provided. NO refund is provided where participant makes own decision to cancel registration at any stage for any reason.
BIG CLARENCE PADDLEBOARD CLASSIC DOES NOT CATER FOR INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANT INSURANCE COVERAGE. UPON ENTERING PARTICIPANTS UNDERSTAND THAT THIS EVENT INVOLVES ACTIVITY THAT HAS INHERANT RISKS THAT MAY CAUSE DEATH OR INJURY OR HARM TO PERSONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE EVENT IN ANY CAPACITY. BY ENTERING YOU DO SO BY YOUR OWN WILL AND AT YOUR OWN RISK, AFTER THESE FACTORS ARE CONSIDERED.
All participants are required to accept and acknowledge the event waiver located within the registration entry process. All participants must also sign a hard copy of this waiver which will be retained by the event organiser. This must be completed in person prior to the event start.
